Zi graduated with a BSc in Bioinformatics from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen in July 2024. He then joined the Cai Lab as a PhD student through the A*STAR PhD Programme, collaborating with Dr. Wei Leong Chew at the Genome Institute of Singapore. His research focuses on engineering non-coding RNAs in eukaryotic genomes using synthetic genomic approaches. In his free time, Zi enjoys birdwatching, visiting museums, building with LEGO, and watching football.
