Dr. Andrea Martella

My research project is focused on development of new tools and strategies that facilitate the design and production of mammalian expression vectors and megabase-size DNA constructs.

My current project is in collaboration with Dr. Steve Pollard’s lab at the MRC Centre for Regenerative Medicine (CRM), a research centre based at the University of Edinburgh. I developed the EMMA toolkit that will be used to accelerate the discovery of new drugs for treatment of glioblastoma and to test new hypotheses in the field of regenerative medicine.

I obtained my doctorate degree in 2014 at the Erasmus Medical Center, Cell Biology department, Rotterdam, The Netherland. Under the supervision of Prof. Frank Grosveld, my research project was focused on transcription factors and signalling pathways involved in differentiation of mesodermal precursors towards hematopoietic and endothelial lineages.

We thank these research councils and industrial partners for their generous support
